"This book is designed to teach microbiology by explaining major microorganisms, the diseases they cause, and the pathology associated with them. It also offers clinical insight into diagnostic testing and treatment options.... [It] succeeds in offering a strong foundation for building knowledge.... The information provided is accurate and well sourced.... Each section on a specific grouping of organisms includes relevant therapies and their mechanisms of action. In addition, tables and charts are well laid out to make identification of differences in organisms and organization of information more straightforward.... As this is the tenth edition, the book has a solid working foundation plus the addition of new information since the last edition.... I recommend this book, and had it been available during my education, it may have supported my education in microbiology.... I recommend it for those pursuing microbiology studies for lab-based or clinical medicine based educational tracks."
