Maggie

Maggie is a fifteen-year-old Appalachian farm girl of Irish descent living in Wilkes County, North Carolina, when she meets a rover, Shade King, and quickly falls in love without any idea of what awaits her in the future.

Maggie and Shade agree to a unique living arrangement for the times after she is left with a farm to run and two siblings to raise. Unfortunately after Shade moves in, he is no help at all. After Maggie gives birth to a daughter, Necy, and her siblings leave for the city, she trades the property for a cabin near the city's edge and begins a new life without Shade. But when Shade becomes entangled with the sheriff's wife and daughter and cannot find a way out of the chaos, he brings Maggie into his convoluted dilemma that eventually results in an arrest for murder and Maggie desperately attempting to prove her innocence.
