Mage Errant, Book 1

A young boy with no magical talent is chosen to apprentice for a powerful mage and must navigate a dangerous labyrinth to prove himself in this hit coming-of-age fantasy adventure laced with magic and intrigue. Hugh of Emblin is, so far as he's concerned, the worst student mage that the Academy at Skyhold has ever seen. He can barely manage any spells at all, and those he does cast tend to fail explosively. Hugh would be delighted to just keep his head down and avoid bullies. Unfortunately for Hugh, life's got other plans for him. When an unusual mage chooses him as an apprentice, he's drawn into a morass of deadly tests, political machinations, giant monsters, sand pirates, warring cults, and flesh-tearing sandstorms. So much for Hugh keeping his head down. Set in a world filled with intricate magic, diverse creatures, and high-stakes politics, the first hardcover edition of Mage Errant, includes both volumes previously published as Into the Labyrinth and Jewel of the Endless Erg.
