Legal Norms, Procedures, and Exchanges in the Medieval and Early Modern Ius Commune

These eleven essays, written by leading experts in the field, focus on norms of canon law, including norms of Romano-canonical procedure in the ius commune, as well as exchanges or cross-influences between different systems of law (e.g., between canon and Roman law, between canon and English common law, or between medieval canon law and early modern laws of nation-states). They treat particular concepts, influences, maxims, procedures, modes of inquiry and analysis in both Catholic and Protestant thought.
