Legacy of Plato's Timaeus

Jacomien Prins is a research fellow at Utrecht University. She has worked extensively on the interaction between music and philosophy in the Renaissance. Her work includes Echoes of an Invisible World: Marsilio Ficino and Francesco Patrizi on Cosmic Order and Music Theory (Brill, 2014), Sing Aloud Harmonious Spheres: Renaissance Conceptions of Cosmic Harmony (Routledge, 2017), and The Routledge Companion to Music, Mind, and Well-being (Routledge, 2018). Edmund Thomas is Associate Professor in Ancient Visual and Material Culture at Durham University and a former director of the Durham Centre for Classical Reception. He has published many works on the intellectual and cultural background of Greek and Roman architecture and the classical architectural tradition up to the present day, including Monumentality and the Roman Empire: Architecture in the Antonine Age (Oxford University Press, 2007).
