In 1963 Hugh Fielder was about to bunk off school to see the Rolling Stones when he was ‘advised’ that a formal request would be granted in exchange for an essay. His future career was established, although he didn’t know it at the time. He arrived in London in 1966 and spent his student years following Cream, Jimi Hendrix and The Who around town and soaking up the pop culture.
