Cheryl is a British Caribbean author. Her debut children's novel, Last Girl In, was long listed for both the Branford Boase and the Little Rebels Awards in 2024, and selected for The Reading Agency's Summer Reading Scheme in 2023. Cheryl won the United Kingdom Literary Association's Brenda Eastward Award for Diversity and Inclusion (2025) for her writing, teaching and lecturing. She has been an English teacher for 21 years, and is currently teaching in a comprehensive in the East of England and living in Lincolnshire with her three children.
