Lame Deer, Seeker of Visions

Enriched Classics offer readers accessible editions of great works of literature enhanced by helpful notes and commentary. Each book includes educational tools alongside the text, enabling students and readers alike to gain a deeper and more developed understanding.

Storyteller, rebel, and medicine man, Lame Deer was born almost a century ago on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. Lame Deer’s story is one of a harsh youth and reckless manhood, a shotgun marriage and divorce, a history and folklore as rich today as when first published.
