Molly joined the Green Party in 1988 and has stood for election for the party at all levels of government. For 20 years Molly was the Green Party's spokesperson on Economy and Finance and for five years she was the party's External Communications Coordinator.Between 2014 and 2020, Molly was the MEP for South West England and Gibraltar. She played a leadership role in the national campaign to Stop Brexit, being an early member of the People's Vote campaign and supporting For Europe groups across the South West. Molly has been Vice Chair of the European Movement since 2022.Molly and her Brussels team produced websites and articles sharing information about corruption during the EU referendum and the Brexit process. She organised an anti-fascism roadshow in 2018, with events across her constituency where she shared a platform with politicians from other parties and academic experts specialising in study of the far right.Molly grew up in Bath and has lived in the West Country for most of her life, currently in Stroud. She studied politics, philosophy and economics at Oxford University and later gained a doctorate in economics from Aberystwyth. She is Professor Emerita of Green Economics at Roehampton University.
