Joan Fitzgerald is a Professor in the School of Public Policy & Urban Affairs at Northeastern University. Fitzgerald focuses on the link between urban climate action, equity, and economic opportunity in cities in North America and the European Union. Fitzgerald recently led a team at the Dukakis Center that conducted the research to support Boston's Climate Ready Workforce Action Plan. Her research now examines how Positive Energy Districts can accelerate urban climate action, building on previous work. Her books include Greenovation (Oxford Univ. Press, 2020) and Emerald Cities (Oxford Univ. Press, 2010). Julian Agyeman is a Professor in the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning, at Tufts University. He is a critical urban planning and environmental social science scholar. He centers his research on critical explorations of the complex and embodied relations between humans and the urban environment, whether mediated by governments or social movementorganizations, and their effects on public policy and planning processes and outcomes, particularly in relation to notions of justice and equity. His books include Cultivating Food Justice (MIT Press, 2011) and Introducing Just Sustainabilities (Bloomsbury, 2013).
