S. Douglas Olson is Distinguished McKnight University Professor in the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Religions and Cultures at the University of Minnesota. He is among the world's leading editors and commentators on ancient Greek texts, known in particular for his work on the Athenian comic poets. But he is also involved in the study of fragmentary literary material and its sources, including Athenaeus of Naucratis and lexicographers such as Pollux.
