Jemima Puddle Duck and Other Animal Stories

As well as being the celebrated creator of the enduringly popular Peter Rabbit tales, Beatrix Potter was the author of a number of stories featuring other animals – ducks, mice, frogs – which display the same inventive brilliance and mercurial charm. From the tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, who is annoyed with the farmer's wife for not letting her hatch her own eggs, to that of Jeremy Fisher, a frog who sets off across the pond on his lily-pad boat to go fishing, this selection of Potter's best animal stories, accompanied by beautiful new illustrations by Anna Currey, stands as testament to its author's genius and sensibility.Contents: 'The Tale of Two Bad Mice', 'The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck', 'The Tale of Jeremy Fisher' and 'The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse'; Glossary; 85 colour illustrations by Anna Currey.ABOUT THE SERIES: Alma Junior Classics series of illustrated classics includes some of the greatest books ever written for younger readers and new translations of unjustly neglected international works.
