In 2015, the Ohira Memorial Foundation in Tokyo, Japan awarded Japan, the US, and Regional Institution-Building in the New Asia the Masayoshi Ohira Memorial Prize, a well-known and prestigious prize for works which contribute to the development of 'the Pacific Basin Community Concept' as well as regional studies of the Pacific Basin region.
