Tien Anh Tran (IEEE Member, IMarEST Member) a Research Fellow at Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Seoul National University, Seoul city, South Korea & Researcher at Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Malta, Msida 2080, Malta. He is an Assistant Professor at Department of Marine Engineering, Vietnam Maritime University, Haiphong City, Vietnam. Additionally, he is also an Honorary Professor at School of Computing Science and Engineering, Galgotias University, India. He received B.Eng and M.Sc at Vietnam Maritime University, Vietnam in 2011 and 2014, respectively. He got Ph.D. Degree at Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan, China in 2018. He is an Editor/Guest Editor for the reputation journals indexed in SCI/SCIE. In 2015, he had been awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) for the full funding of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in China. In 2019, He had been awarded the NEPTUNE prize for the outstanding researchers by Vietnam Maritime University, In 2022, he is one of five outstanding scientists in Vietnam to be nominated for Ta Quang Buu prize by the National Foundation for Science & Technology Development (NAFOSTED). Additionally, he had been selected and awarded the full scholarship for the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program of National Research Foundation (NRF) for Foreign Researchers by the Government of South Korea.Victor Bolbot is a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer specializing in maritime safety, autonomous ships, and sustainable marine systems. He is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Aalto University, Finland, where he contributes to major international projects on autonomous ship design, cyber-risk assessment, accident analysis, and the sustainability of Arctic operations. He has participated in over 25 research projects, including the EU Horizon AUTOSHIP initiative and collaborations with ABB, VTT, DNV, and Wärtsilä. He holds an M.Eng. from the National Technical University of Athens and a PhD from the University of Strathclyde, where he studied safety in marine cyber-physical systems. His earlier industry experience includes serving as Performance Engineer and TMSA coordinator at Pantheon Tankers Management Ltd. He has led/coauthored 35 journal papers, 33 conference papers, and 12 technical reports, accumulating more than 1,600 citations (h-index 21). His work spans ship systems safety, maritime cybersecurity, autonomous navigation, AIS data analytics, and energy systems. He has received several awards, including distinctions from DNV, RINA, IMarEST, and TRA VISIONS 2020. He has contributed to teaching on five university courses and supervised 20 students across Bachelor, Master, PhD, and D.Sc. levels. He maintains active collaborations in over 12 countries and has lived and worked in Greece, the UK, Finland, and Malaysia.Ivan Tam is an Associate Professor at Newcastle University in the UK with a wealth of experience in multi-disciplinary research and a strong track record of leading innovative projects. His research interest is in the clean fuel combustion process, exhaust emission control, energy management and renewable energy technology. He has successfully applied cryogenic technology and organic Rankine cycles in improvement of performance in marine engines. He is currently developing a novel wet scrubber technology in the mitigation of gas emissions including carbon dioxide with his research team. He has a good connection with engineering companies through the network of learned societies and consultancy work with local industries in Singapore. He is a Fellow member, Assessor of Registration, the Honorary Advisor and Immediate Past Chairman of the Joint Branch (IMarEST & RINA). He received the President's Commendation Award from IMarEST in 2016. He is the Director of Degree Programmes in Marine Technology (Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering) at the university. He is currently holding an appointment as the Director of Innovation & Engagement. A key aim of this new office is to increase engagement with alumni and partnership with industry. He is the Guest Editor for the “Energies” journal special issues “Thermal Systems” and “Advanced Thermal Systems” (IF = 3.252, Citescore = 5.0).
