As a result of an extensive experience in Peru made possible through a Fulbright-funded project, we gain insight into the growth and transition undergone by a team of teachers and teacher educators as they become more knowledgeable, skilled and globally-competent at understanding the intercultural dynamics at play students in teaching and learning across cultures. This volume provides further evidence of the critical role that firsthand immersion plays in the development of intercultural competence and how it can impact one’s teaching in both K-12 as well as teacher education contexts.
