This fine collection of essays offers a wide range of new and original perspectives on Strindberg and his relation to modern and contemporary literature. Anna Westerstahl Stenport is an associate professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she teaches literature, film, drama, and gender and women's studies. She directs the University's undergraduate Scandinavian Program and holds appointments in the European Union Centre and as a faculty liaison for INSPIRE: Illinois-Sweden Program in Educational and Research Exchange. She has held academic appointments at the University of California, Berkeley, Stanford University, and the University of Gothenburg, Sweden and is an American-Scandinavian Foundation Fellow and a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.
