Akhilesh Kumar Singh, is working as Associate Professor, Department of Plant Protection, College of Horticulture, Banda University of Agriculture and Technology Banda -210001 (U.P.) India. He has served as Assistant Scientist about 7 years and currently serving in the teaching profession for more than 6 years. He did Bachelor's degree in Agriculture in the year 1999, Masters in Entomology in 2002 from the prestigious ANDUAT, Ayodhya and accomplished Doctoral Research in Entomology and Agricultural Zoology and conferred Ph. D. from BHU, Varanasi in 2006. He is also qualified ASRB (NET) in the field of Entomology. He has accomplished 12 externally funded Projects as Principal Investigator of worth Rs. 4730.63 Lakh and currently serving in 3 externally funded research projects as Principal Investigator.Besides contributing more than 72 publications, which include 42 research papers in peer reviewed journals, 1 book and 6 book chapters, 23 articles, etc. He has organized 2 seminars, attended 6 international, 13 national seminars and presented papers and also delivered 18 invited lectures in advance training programs, farmers training programme.Dr. Singh guided two M.Sc. Students and being a member of evaluation committee of six M.Sc. Students. He conferred several awards viz. Agri-innovation Award in 2015 from GKV Society, Agra, UP, Young Scientist Award 2016 from S&T SIRI, Telangan, Excellence in Research Award (Senior Category) in 2021 from Banda University of Agriculture and Technology Banda, Banda, Best paper Award in 2020 from Society for horticulture research & development, Best Paper Award in 2013 from Society for advancement of natural resins and gums, IINRG Ranchi. He is Fellow of Entomological Society of India and Indian Ecological Society and member of different National and international societies.
