Mer information
SUT Violetta Sokoła-Szewioła, PhD, DSc, Eng.- Deputy Dean for Science and Cooperation at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology. She conducts research into issues relating to induced seismicity in mining areas and the deformation of rock masses and ground surfaces, with a particular focus on rock mechanics, as well as issues associated with mine closure, technological, environmental and social challenges. She developed authors methods of forecasting subsidence of terrain surface points in a short period of time, and forecasting seismic threat based on continuous observations of subsidence of the mining area. Her research also focused on environmental risks in post-mining areas. Manager and investigator of several dozen scientific and research works and research projects, including those financed by European Union funds. The author and co-author of over 130 publications. She has presented her work at over 110 conferences worldwide. The editor of special editions of international journals and conference proceedings. She is a reviewer of numerous scientific articles. Member of the Commission for the Protection of Mining Areas of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The expert, in the commission operating within the structures of the European Union.SUT Krzysztof Filipowicz, PhD, DSc, Eng.- Dean of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology. The specialist in the design of engineering machinery, particularly mining machinery, as well as in the construction, operation, diagnostics, computer-aided design, tribology and dynamics of machinery. In particular, he focuses on issues relating to the design and operation of drive systems. He collaborates with industry mainly in the field of innovative machine drive systems, particularly flexible couplings, and in the analysis of dynamic loads on gearboxes and their implementation. He is the author and co-author of over 200 scientific publications: in journals, at conferences, in monographs and chapters of monographs, and in textbooks. He is a reviewer of numerous scientific articles. He is the principal investigator and lead researcher on numerous scientific research projects, consultancy assignments and research projects. He is the author and co-author of over 15 patents with industrial applications. The deputy editor-in-chief of a reputed journal.Patrycja Jarczyk - a researcher and academic teacher at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. She is the author of numerous scientific publications and conference presentations. Her research interests include underground construction, rock and rock mass mechanics, as well as mining-induced seismicity. She is also actively involved in the field of geodesy and cartography, being the author and co-author of many studies. She has participated in several international projects concerning seismicity in mining and post-mining areas.
