In This Void

"Alex Rasmussen has written a smart, sharp, compelling, entertaining, tight and deliciously tense book. In This Void is so vivid and emotionally raw that I feel like I know the characters as memories of people I once was close to. Please read this book immediately!" -- Chris Ballew, singer of The Presidents of the United States of AmericaAfter quitting his soul-sucking job to play music around the U.S. while living in an old postal van, troubled singer and guitarist Kody Logan gets the opportunity of a lifetime: a recording session in Nashville with a legendary producer. Seeing this as his sole chance to escape an endless cycle of dive-bar gigs, hollow hookups, and self-loathing, Kody puts every penny he has on the line to make it happen. En route to Music City, he joins forces with Dane, a charismatic violinist whose effortless talent, life-affirming outlook, and magnetic presence soon stir a crippling mixture of jealousy and resentment in the misanthropic songwriter. As Kody's bitterness toward Dane swells to a breaking point, the stage suddenly seems too small for both musicians.
