The University of Ottawa selected him as an Educator of the Year in 2008â09. J.L. Granatstein, the director of the Canadian War Museum from 1998 to 2000, is a Toronto historian and the author of Who Killed the Canadian Military? . P. Whitney Lackenbauer is a professor of History at St. Jerome's University (University of Waterloo) who specializes in Arctic sovereignty and security issues, Aboriginal-state relations, circumpolar history, and modern Canadian military, diplomatic and political history. He is the editor of the multi-award-winning A Historical and Legal Study of Sovereignty in the Canadian North (UCalgary Press). Peter Kikkert recently completed his M.A. at the University of Waterloo and is a Ph.D. student in history at the University of Western Ontario.
