Music is, for many, central to our spiritual lives and relationships with our neighbours, our world, and with God. In this book of biblical reflections, musician and priest Jonathan Arnold explores the idea of living in the ‘key of the kingdom’ – listening seriously and intently to God’s will, tuning into the frequency of the sounds of the kingdom, and responding to them with our own music of peace, mercy, and justice. Arnold reflects on what it means to listen to one another, to the needs of our world, to the song of the earth, to the depths of our hearts, and to the call of God’s love; and how God’s gift of music can help give people dignity, bring healing to individuals and communities, and enable us to feel more compassion for those around us and for all creation. Each chapter includes a passage of scripture, a prayer, and suggested track to listen to as part of guided reflection.
