Illegal Parnassus

Illegal Parnassus is a manifest of defeat and helplessness, a poignant story of a clash between creative spirit and narrow-minded provincial folk. It is also a tragic account of a man who sets out on an artistic journey, and faces disaster from his first step, since he does not have enough strength and talent to confront the incurable reality. Babić has managed to transform a character’s fate into a vision of futility, of any construction venture, in a country that has willingly metamorphosed itself into ruins. Both urban and human.
