Prof. Emmanuel Rotimi Sadiku is an Emeritus Professor at Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, South Africa. He completed his BSc (Hons.) and PhD in Polymer Science at the University of Strathclyde, UK. His academic career spans several decades, including postdoctoral research in Italy and Sweden, and academic appointments in Nigeria and South Africa. Prof. Sadiku’s research focuses on polymer physics, with particular expertise in X-ray diffraction, microscopy techniques, rheology, and viscoelasticity of polymers. He has held research scientist positions and contributed extensively to polymer science education and mentorship, supervising numerous doctoral and master’s students. His work bridges fundamental polymer physics with applied materials engineering, emphasizing the development and characterization of advanced polymer systems. Prof. Sadiku’s career demonstrates a dedication to advancing polymer science through research, teaching, and international collaboration. Prof B.A. Aderibigbe is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry, University of Fort Hare, South Africa. She obtained her PhD and MSc degree from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. Her field of research is the design of polymer-based drug delivery systems and wound dressings, and synthesis and biological evaluation of organic molecules. She has authored over 39 book chapters and has published over 70 manuscripts in high impact journals. She is also a Research Associate with Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, South Africa.
