Dr Nisa Salim is a Senior Lecturer within the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Product Design Engineering at the School of Engineering, Swinburne University of Technology Australia. She received her PhD degree from Deakin University with a highly prestigious Gold Medal for Research Excellence from the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering. Her research team focuses on interdisciplinary science and engineering, including advanced composites manufacturing, nanomaterials and multifunctional materials, enabling key applications in space, aerospace, and defence. She has published over 80 high-impact journal papers, 4 edited books, 8 book chapters, and 1 patent application. Nisa won many awards in her research career, including the Smart Geelong Early Researcher award, Victoria Fellowship, Endeavour Fellowship, Alfred Deakin Fellowship, Australian Academy of Science AIEMCR Fellowship, and many more, even with a career break of more than 2 years. She also serves several professional bodies and learned societies: National Committee Member for Materials Science and Engineering, Australian Academy of Science, Treasurer (national) of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) Carbon Division (since 2018); Editorial Board Member (ECR) for the Chemical Engineering Journal, Polymers, and Journal of Composites Science Professor Nishar Hameed is a research leader in composite materials. He completed his PhD from Deakin University Australia, winning the Best Doctoral Thesis Award followed by an Alfred Deakin Post Doc Fellowship. Nishar’s research is mainly focused on the design and development of advanced polymers, composites and hybrid materials. He has published 130 high impact journal papers, 7 book chapters, 5 edited books and 3 patents. He was invited to edit the first ever Hand Book on Epoxy Blends which was published in two volumes in 2017. His several achievements include many “firsts in the field, inspiring many follow-up studies. Nishar's research focusses on carbon fibre composites, multifunctional epoxy resins, graphene enabled coatings and composites and graphene sensors. Nishar won many awards as he advances his research career including Bayreuth Humboldt Centre Award, Smart Geelong Researcher of the Year, Young Tall Poppy Award, Phillip Law Award and prestigious fellowships including Victoria Fellowship, two Endeavour Fellowships and Australian Academy of Sciences AIECR and FASIC Fellowships. He has held visiting appointments at Rice University, University of California Los Angeles, University of Southern Mississippi, University of Kentucky, CNRS Montpellier, Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Indian Institute of Science Bangalore.Dr. Sabu Thomas (Ph.D.) is the Director of the School of Energy Materials, School of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of Mahatma Gandhi University, India. He received his Ph. D. in 1987 in Polymer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London, and a member of the American Chemical Society. He has been ranked no.1 in India about the number of publications (most productive scientists). Prof. Thomas’s research group specialized areas of polymers which includes Polymer blends, Fiber filled polymer composites, Particulate-filled polymer composites and their morphological characterization, Ageing and degradation, Pervaporation phenomena, sorption and diffusion, Interpenetrating polymer systems, Recyclability and reuse of waste plastics and rubbers, Elastomer cross-linking, Dual porous nanocomposite scaffolds for tissue engineering, etc. Prof. Thomas’s research group has extensive exchange programs with different industries, research, and academic institutions all over the world and is performing world-class collaborative research in various fields. Professors Centre is equipped with various sophisticated instruments and has established state-of-the-art experimental facilities which cater to the needs of researchers within the country and abroad. His H Index- 133, Google Citations- 86424, Number of Publications- 1300, and Books-160.Ms. Jesiya Susan George is research scholar at School of Chemical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University. She completed her masters in biopolymer science from Cochin University of Science and technology. She received prestigious DST INSPIRE fellowship, Gov. of India. Her research interest involves anticorrosive coatings, epoxy resin, hybrid nanostructures and polymer blends. She published several articles in high-impact journals. She has two edited books to her credit.
