Yiu-Wai Chu is a Professor and Director of the Hong Kong Studies Programme, School of Modern Languages and Cultures, the University of Hong Kong. His research interests focus on Hong Kong’s culture, globalization and postcolonial discourse. An elected Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of the Humanities, he has published academic essays in, among others, Social Analysis, boundary 2, Inter-Asia Cultural Studies, Visual Anthropology, Popular Music, the Journal of Chinese Cinemas and the International Journal of Cultural Studies.
