Hegel’s deeply gendered philosophy has occupied feminist thought for decades. Yet this volume demonstrates that there are still new dimensions to uncover and new interpretive trajectories to pursue. Bringing together a series of sophisticated readings across the full range of Hegel’s philosophical system, it combines outstanding scholarly rigor with incisive critical engagement. Hegel scholarship emerges here not as an ivory-tower exercise, but as a vital resource for contemporary debates on, for example, social reproduction, family abolitionism, and sexual violence. Both Hegel scholars and feminist theorists will profit greatly from these fresh and illuminating readings of femininity, sex, gender, and women in Hegel.
