Karen Eggleston joined the Shorenstein AsiaPacific Research Center (APARC) in the summer of 2007 to lead the center's Asia Health Policy Program. She is also the deputy director of Shorenstein APARC. She is a fellow at Stanford's Center for Health Policy/Primary Care and Outcomes Research, and a Faculty Research Fellow of the National Bureau of Economic Research. Her research focuses on comparative healthcare systems and health reform in Asia, especially China; government and market roles in the health sector; payment incentives; healthcare productivity; and the economics of the demographic transition.
