Mala Kapur Shankardass is a sociologist, gerontologist, health and development social scientist. She is a teacher, writer, researcher, consultant and activist. She has been involved with ageing studies since 1992, when she started postdoctoral work on ageing issues. She has done prestigious assignments with United Nations agencies and international and national institutions. She has participated in panel discussions, delivered keynote addresses and chaired sessions on ageing concerns with reputed organizations in India and abroad. She has been recognized for her work and contributions to gerontology worldwide.Avinash De Sousa is a Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, and Consultant School Psychiatrist. He has his Consulting Rooms in Santacruz West, Mumbai. He is a Research Associate at the Department of Psychiatry, Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Mumbai. He is also the Founder and Trustee – the Desousa Foundation – a trust that works in the area ofmental health awareness across all sectors.He is also an Associate Professor and Secretary – International Institute of Organizational Psychological Medicine – an organization that works in organizational psychological medicine across seven countries.He has over 750 publications in national and international journals and is the author of 12 books in the area of mental health.He is one of the few psychiatrists who, in addition to a psychiatry degree, has Masters in Counseling & Psychotherapy, an M Phil in Applied Psychology, and an MBA in Human Resource Development. He was awarded a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hertfordshire, UK 2011.
