Gynecological Disorders: From Pathophysiology to Translational and Precision Medicine provides a multidisciplinary synthesis of major gynecological disorders and the scientific and technological advances transforming their diagnosis, management and prevention. Covering endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, uterine fibroids, menstrual disorders and gynecological cancers, the book connects disease mechanisms and clinical challenges with emerging approaches in molecular biomarkers, liquid biopsy, microbiome science, artificial intelligence, digital health, regenerative medicine and nanomedicine.
Dedicated sections examine reproductive tract infections, HPV-associated carcinogenesis, antimicrobial resistance, environmental endocrine disruptors, mental health and the sociocultural determinants of gynecological health.
The volume also addresses clinical readiness, validation, health disparities, implementation science and health policy, distinguishing emerging scientific promise from real-world applicability.
Written for clinicians, researchers, trainees and public health professionals, the book integrates molecular, clinical, technological and population-health perspectives to provide a translational framework for understanding the evolving landscape of gynecological disorders and advancing equitable precision care.

Mer information
Dr. Atar Singh Kushwah is a molecular geneticist and translational oncologist whose work links genetics, epigenetics, and molecular oncology to women’s health and cancer outcomes. He earned a Ph.D. in Molecular and Human Genetics from Banaras Hindu University (in collaboration with the University of Lucknow), studying genetic and epigenetic changes in DNA repair and their impact on cervical cancer therapy. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Center for NanoBiotechnology Research, Alabama State University, and the Women’s Biomedical Research Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, exploring how host genetics, metabolism, and tumor microenvironment signaling drive cancer progression and therapy resistance. Now an Assistant Professor at Manipal University Jaipur, his lab investigates the Microbiome–Epigenome–DNA Repair Axis as a determinant of gynecological disease susceptibility and treatment outcomes, including AI-driven diagnostics and CRISPR-based therapies. He has 30+ publications and serves on several editorial boards. Anurag Kumar Singh, PhD, is a Research Associate in the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, India. His research focuses on developing nanoparticulate systems for chronic pain, neurodegenerative disorders, brain-targeted drug delivery, diagnostics, and therapy. His work includes dendrimers, nanoporous silica and silicon materials, and polymeric nanoparticles for controlled drug delivery, with broader interests in nanomedicines for biomedical and healthcare applications and in integrating engineering, pharmaceutical, and medical research. He previously held postdoctoral research positions in cancer biology at Alabama State University, USA, and in nanotechnology and advanced materials at Bar-Ilan University, Israel. Dr. Nitish Kumar Singh is a Research Scientist-C at the Multidisciplinary Research Unit, IMS BHU, under Health Research–ICMR. He earned a PhD in Biochemistry from IMS-BHU, with work identifying MTHFR C677T and A1298C polymorphisms as major genetic risk factors for neural tube defects in North Indian populations, highlighting gene–environment interactions and the need for personalized prenatal care and targeted genomic screening. His broader interests include molecular genetics, cytogenetics, genomic medicine, and public health, focusing on genetic disorders, biomarker discovery, and translational diagnostics. He has expertise in Next-Generation Sequencing (GridION, Illumina MiSeq), Sanger sequencing, QF-PCR, microarrays, karyotyping, and bioinformatics. He has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to India’s SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance via GISAID. He is active in training, peer review, biomedical publishing, and academic mentorship. Dr. Monisha Banerjee is a Professor of Molecular and Human Genetics in the Department of Zoology at the University of Lucknow and the Founder-Director of the Institute of Advanced Molecular Genetics and Infectious Diseases. Her research focuses on genetic and epigenetic associations in type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, cervical cancer, and pulmonary diseases, emphasizing pharmacogenetics of antidiabetic and anticancer therapies and new treatment strategies. She mentors 31 PhD students and numerous postdocs, and has trained over 40 UG/PG students. Her team collaborates across medical universities and allied departments. She has led 14 major research projects and published around 200 papers; she has delivered invited talks, served as chair/panelist at conferences, and contributed to INDICO. Awards include SHIKSHAK SHREE (UP government) and the University of Lucknow Teacher Excellence Award. Former Dean of Research, Lucknow; life member of multiple academic societies.
