In Ireland there are 269 mountain summits that are 600 metres or higher, and with a prominence of 15 metres or more. These are The Vandeleur-Lynams. And there are 404 summits with an elevation of at least 500 metres, with a prominence of 30 metres or more. We call these The Arderins. For the first time both these lists are published together, along with lists of Ireland's 27 County Highpoints and the island's Hundred Highest mountains, using updated data and information as contributed by the MountainViews.ie community. MountainViews is a community of hillwalkers that has built up around MountainViews.ie, a website for hillwalkers in Ireland. Non-profit and based on co-operation the website now has extensive information on over 1000 summits and over 300 routes. MountainViews publishes a monthly newsletter, holds public talks and facilitates member organised walks. It also sponsors the game of summiteering, where members log what they have climbed and view their progress against others.
