Michael I. Ohajuru is Senior Fellow of theInstitute of Commonwealth Studies; has honours degrees in physics and arthistory; and writes and speaks regularly on the Black presence in RenaissanceEurope. He is founder of Image of the Black in London Galleries, aseries of gallery tours; the project director and chief evangelist of TheJohn Blanke Project: an art and archive project celebrating John Blankethe Black trumpeter to courts of Henry VII and Henry VIII; co-convener ofthe Institute of Commonwealth Studies What’s Happening in Black BritishHistory series of workshops; and founder member of the Black Presencein British Portraiture network.Dr RenéeLandell is a literary and cultural scholar, visual artist, writer and publicspeaker. In 2023 she completed a PhD, with a thesis exploring interspeciesviolence and resistance (Black humanity and the Nonhuman world) in AnglophoneCaribbean neo-slave narratives. Alongside her writing and speaking, Dr Landellworks as the founding director of Beyond Margins UK, a multi-award winningracial justice and equity movement, and as co-founder of Black in Arts andHumanities, a global online network of Black scholars and practitioners. She isalso a committee member of the Society for Caribbean Studies.
