Green innovations are an increasingly high priority in the European port and maritime supply chain industry and they are being pursued with four main targets in mind, clean energy production and supply, sustainable port design, modal shift and flows optimization and digital transformation. These innovations are being implemented to varying extents, with varying levels of success and in a wide variety of port typologies. This contributed volume explores green innovation strategy in ports, applying cutting edge theory to a diverse range of case studies across the European port industry. Topics covered include trade-off analysis, smart ports, AI, sustainability reporting and emissions reduction. His research focuses on inter- and intra-firm relationships in purchasing and supply chain management, sustainability and circularity and the role of supply chain management in a carbonless society.
