God's Laughter

Thomas Brush's new collection is about memory, ageing, dive bars, love, and the struggle to keep nostalgia from turning life into an elegy for itself. As usual in his work, the poems contain a wild cast of characters, contexts, and paths, all of them presented in a language of great compression, directness, and honesty.
