Globalization, Difference, and Human Security is an outstanding collection of essays by an outstanding cast of scholars. From the first chapter to the last, the contributions are theoretically innovative and politically astute. As a whole, the collection issues a serious critical challenge to international studies and to both scholarly and applied policy communities. Michael J. Shapiro, University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA. Pasha and his collaborators unravel the liberal underpinnings of ‘human security’ and properly locate it at the heart of contemporary operations of power while somehow managing to retrieve it as a potentially critical concept. This is a valuable contribution on a much contested concept. Vivienne Jabri, King’s College London, UK.
