Global Governance of Harmful Practices

Available open access digitally under CC-BY-NC-ND licence.While gender-based violence is not a novel phenomenon, it has only recently come to the centre of global policy efforts. This book examines three pervasive forms of harmful practices prevalent across the world: child marriage, female genital mutilation and gender-biased sex selection. The author measures policy progress made by select global programmes towards the eradication of these practices and offers crucial, practical guidance to accelerate change for the future.
