Gestational Diabetes Mellitus

Dr. Hod serves as a member of the Executive Board of Directors, the International Association of Diabetes in Pregnancy Study Groups (IADPSG) and isthe Chairman of the Board of the Diabetic Pregnancy Study Group (DPSG) of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) and as a member of the postgraduate educational committee of the EASD. He is the author of more than 300 scientific publications has organized and chaired numerous international congresses and given workshops on various aspects of perinatal medicine. He is the founder and President of the International Symposium on Diabetic Pregnancy (DIP) held every two years. Prof. Hod is the co-President of the World Congress on Women’s Health: Innovations and Inventions (WHII 2020): Addressing Unmet Needs Dr. Vincenzo Berghella, Professor and Director, Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Fellowship Program at Thomas Jefferson University. He has over 25 years of experience, won many awards, belongs to several international and local societies. He is the Editor-in-Chief, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology-MFM, is associate editor on several journals and serves as an editorial board member of many other journals. He has published over 300+ publications, is a prolific speaker, and has been interviewed ~50 times in alternative media sources, magazines, and news stations such as CBS and NBC news Dr. Shen is the Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine in the University of Manitoba. His research program aims to mechanism and management of for diabetic cardiovascular complications and gestational diabetes. He published >100 peer reviewed papers and received a number of national and international awards and recognitions including Editor-in-Chief of Cardiovascular and Hematological Disorders-Drug Target, Advisory Professor in Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, and Councilor of Canadian Society of Atherosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology. Dr. Hema Divakar is Senior Consultant Obsterician and Gynecologist, with over three decades of experience and expertise in women’s healthcare in India. She is an Opinion Leader and Advocate for social and legal issues relating to women’s health and an expert in providing technical knowhow. She is a leading medical professional of India with a vision to improve the healthcare services ecosystem for the welfare of women. She has is a game changer in healthcare, establishing new benchmarks, standards and touching women’s lives in the process. She is an activist and an accomplished specialist in the field of Obgyn care, she runs the Divakar’s speciality hospital in Bangalore. The hospital boasts of excellence in women’s healthcare matching world’s best standards Dr. McIntyre is the Head of Mater Clinical Unit, Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland Director of Obstetric Medicine, Mater Health Consultant Endocrinologist, Mater Health Services and Princess Alexandra Hospital. He has established advanced training programs in Endocrinology and Obstetric Medicine at Mater Health. His research interests Involved in general diabetes and endocrinology research including major multicentre trials (FIELD and ADVANCE studies) since 1989. Involved primarily in diabetes, obesity and pregnancy research since 1993, including major trials such as HAPO, MiG, SPRING and MiTY. Also involved in promotion of optimal intensive insulin therapy for Type 1 diabetes including introduction of DAFNE (Dose Adjustment for Normal Eating) program to Australia since 2005 Dr. Rodney A. Mclaren is an obstetrician-gynecologist in Fairfax, Virginia and is affiliated with Virginia Hospital Center. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He’s published ~35 papers, has won several awards, and hold many editorial positions in several journals in maternal medicine. Dr. Melamed is head of the Twins Research Centre at Sunnybrook. His research is focused mainly on improving the understanding of the mechanisms of pregnancy complications, fetal growth, and prediction and prevention of preterm birth in twin pregnancies. This work is supported by the Waugh Family Chair in Twins Research held by Dr. Melamed, and by a $1.5 million Canadian Institutes of Health Research Team Grant on noncommunicable diseases in obstetrics.His research also focuses on placental disease and fetal growth. He uses various approaches including biochemical markers, noninvasive cardiac monitoring, ultrasound and Doppler studies, and placental pathology.
