Generative AI for Pragmatics

Naoko Taguchi is Professor in the English Department at Northern Arizona University. Her primary research interests include second language pragmatics, intercultural competence, and technology-mediated language learning. Her recent book publications include the Encyclopedia of Applied Linguistics (Pragmatics) (second edition; with Daniel Kádár) and The Routledge Handbook of Second Language Acquisition and Pragmatics (2019). She is the co-editor of the journals Language Learning (Wiley) and Applied Pragmatics (John Benjamins). She serves on the advisory board for the International Teachers' Association of Pragmatics and on the editorial boards of thirteen journals and book series.
