Peter Robinson is Lecturer in Sociology at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. His research interests include ageing, sexuality, and social justice. His first book, The Changing World of Gay Men won The Australian Sociological Association's inaugural Raewyn Connell Prize in 2010.

"A valuable sociological contribution to a crucial set of debates around the life experiences and relationships of gay men ... This is an important book, that will be of interest to sociologists and other researchers interested in understanding gay men's relationships across the life course in particular, but also in understanding relationship formation and maintenance processes over the life course more generally. The book is written in a clear, thoughtful and accessible style, meaning that it will be of interest to students at all levels as well as to academic readers. The timely nature of the topic of the book means that it will also be of interest and relevance to a broader audience than a purely academic readership ... it is clear that Peter Robinson is making an important and sustained contribution to sociological understandings of the worlds of gay men." - New Zealand Sociology
