About the orignal edition:"The chief importance of the book is its focus on lesbian/gay youths and the author's ability to see this under-researched group in nonpathological terms and challenge the concept that lesbian and gay youths necessarily have low self-esteem." – Richard R. Pleak in the Archives of Sexual Behavior
