While deer hunting in southern Ohio, Jake Holiday is accidentally pulled through an opened gateway to another planet, Empyrean. When he lands, Jake breaks the mini-transporter that brought him there. While the young genius, Castor Mannis, attempts to repairs his device to return Jake to Earth, Jake learns the true relationship between Empyrean and Earth. Jake learns the secrets that have long been sought after; what happened to the dinosaurs, who built the pyramids, why we live as long as we do among many others. The local authorities, the Karda, are aware that an illegal breach occurred and are in search of the perpetrator before he returns to Earth with the knowledge that was obtained.
