Scott Marcus is Associate Professor of Music at the UC Santa Barbara. DwightReynolds is Professor of Religion at UC Santa Barbara and author of Heroic Poets, Heroic Heroes: The Ethnography ofPerformance in an Arabic Oral Epic Tradition (1995).
