The Author: Helen R. Boyd, O.P., is Assistant Professor of History at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. She received her Ph.D. in world history from St. John’s University, New York. An avid world traveler, her travelling experiences have enhanced her research and teaching. Dr. Boyd has presented her work at various conferences and has been an educator and administrator for many years at all educational levels.
