Harini Amarasuriya (Author) Harini Amarasuriya is an academic and activist. She started her career working in child protection policy before completing a PhD in social anthropology. From 2010 until 2019, she taught at the Open University of Sri Lanka. Sidharthan Maunaguru (Author) Sidharthan Maunaguru is Associate Professor of Anthropology and Chair of Tamil Studies at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on the anthropology of violence, migration, marriage, politics, religion and futures. He is the author of Marrying for a Future: Transnational Sri Lankan Tamil Marriages in the Shadow of War (Washington, 2019) Jonathan Spencer (Author) Jonathan Spencer is Regius Professor Emeritus of South Asian Language, Culture, and Society at the University of Edinburgh. He has carried out research in Sri Lanka since the early 1980s. His most recent books are the co-authored Checkpoint, Temple, Church and Mosque: A Collaborative Ethnography of War and Peace (Pluto, 2014) and Anthropology, Politics and the State: Democracy and Violence in South Asia (Cambridge, 2007).
