K.Parthasarathy is a former Director and Head, Ramanujan Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, University of Madras. He had his school and college education in Madras (now Chennai) and got his doctoral degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Abstract harmonic analysis and frame theory are his research interests and he has published a number of research papers on these. He had taught several subjects - algebra, algebraic topology, algebraic number theory, topology, differential geometry, differential equations, Lie algebras - besides all aspects of analysis for over three decades. He had been advisor for several doctoral students. He is a reviewer for many research journals and for Mathematical Reviews and zbMATH. His highly acclaimed book Topology, an invitation ,was published by Springer (2022) .
