Amy Bogaard is Professor of European Archaeology, in the School of Archaeology at the University of Oxford and External Professor at the Santa Fe Institute. A scholar of early farming in western Asia and Europe, her research also traces the agroecology of early cities and implications for wealth inequality and resilience. Bogaard's projects received the Shanghai Archaeology Research Award in 2015 and 2025. She was awarded the Christine and Jean Guilaine Foundation Prize in 2025. She is a fellow of the British Academy.
