MICHAEL S. LEWIS-BECK is F. Wendell Miller Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the University of Iowa. He has published over 110 articles or books, many of them on French politics and economics. His most recent book is How France Votes. He has been Visiting Professor or Scholar at Sciences Po (Paris), CEVIPOF (Paris), the University of Paris-I, the Ecole d'Ete de Lille, and the Camargo Foundation (Cassis).
