"This book is a wonderfully nuanced and detailed analysis of the position of Muslims in French society. The authors provide a telling account of what they see as the 'silent flight' of French Muslims as a way of dealing with the multiple forms of exclusion they are subject to. A must-read for scholars and general readers alike."John Solomos, Professor Emeritus, University of Warwick"France is experiencing a brain-drain - the loss of some of its most well-educated and socially committed citizens who, because of the racism they faced, found life in France to be intolerable. This book offers the first sustained analysis of the flight of French Muslims abroad, examining their sense of loss and disappointment and the consequences of feeling unloved in the place one calls home. An essential read for anyone interested in the lived experience of anti-Muslim discrimination."Paul Silverstein, Reed College
