Fractured Life of Lucy Hughes

Annie Morgan studied journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before moving to Atlanta, Georgia. She spends her days teaching and her nights running a cottage bakery. When she’s not wrangling children or decorating cookies, she’s writing about women trying to find themselves and their place in the world.

“Filled with heartache and hope, The Fractured Life of Lucy Hughes explores how split-second decisions can send our lives careening in different directions. With sharp prose and poignant storytelling, Annie Morgan offers a glimpse into the ways our past informs our future—and how we can wrestle control of our fate. It’s as beautiful in its subtlety as it is powerful in its clarity. I didn’t want it to end.” —Mara Williams, author of The Epicenter of Forever“The plot and the clever mechanics of this book immediately struck me. I found myself immersed and fittingly relating to different pieces of each character’s life and perspective. It spurred me to ponder my own choices and how they intersect with others’ lives. Not only is this book a page turner, but it points a keen eye toward the forces of cause and effect, and how we are both the chooser and the chosen.” —Amy Ray, Indigo Girls“Honest and hopeful, The Fractured Life of Lucy Hughes bravely explores second chances, identity, trauma, found family, and the choices we make that lead us to our true selves.
