"[...] Besides making us critical of the assumptions and relationships behind how such field stations are created in the Caribbean, Sansone’s book is a significant and valued contribution to scholarship that reveals the social origins of social theory. It will send Caribbeanist anthropologists, sociologists, and linguists back to the archives [...]." - Kevin A. Yelvington, University of South Florida, in: New West Indian Guide 98 (2024), 331–430
