Alastair Hamilton was the Arcadian Visiting Research Professor at the School of Advanced Study at the University of London, and was attached to the Warburg Institute from 2003 to 2016. He is now an Honorary Fellow at the Warburg Institute and a Fellow of the British Academy. The former Professor of the History of Ideas at Leiden University and of the History of the Radical Reformation at the University of Amsterdam, his research interests include religious non-conformism in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Europe and relations between Europe and the Arab world.
